More opponent previews

As the season nears, USA Today keeps posting more team previews. Since our last update, the site added Pitt and Syracuse breakdowns. As always Paul Myerberg does a great job with these write ups.

I think we have the very slightest of edges in these games, since they are both at home. These can be 2 wins, 2 losses or 1 win and 1 loss. That's how close they look a of now.

Pitt WR Tyler Boyd scares me to death - this guy is great. We've got to get after the QB all night, so he can't easily hit Boyd.

The Syracuse QB scares me as well.

Go BC - beat Pitt; beat Syracuse.

As I have stated before, I attended my very first game as a BC Freshman against Syracuse with Jim Nance and Floyd Little in the same backfield. I'm sure they were favored, having been National Champs a few years before. Floyd was the new (but late) Ernie Davis for sure.

We won the game on the very last play with a Hail Mary from Larry Marzetti to the late Tight End Bill Cronin. That play is still in my Top 10 if not my Top 5 lifetime.

I have been a crazy fan ever since.

Always believe, BC - we can pull it off.

As usual, I'm looking forward to summer's end so football can begin.

Thanks for sharing that. What a win, I'm surprised I never heard about it. My Dad took me to Yankee stadium that year to see Army play the Cuse. The Orange handled the Black Knights pretty easily thanks to the power running of Nance, although all the pre game hype centered on Little. As he later showed w/ the Pats Nance was one of the all time greats. I bet coach Ben would love Daz's style of ball.
